jeluvitas and rayn landed on the surface of hoth. he allowed rayn to leave his b-wing so that he may stretch and stay in shape for the battle to come. all that was left was to wait for marekis to arrive and the battle would begin. whoever won would be his apprentice, and whoever lost would die.

Hoth.....its cold.
As soon as he had exited the sith's vessel Rayn had drawn his hood and wrapped his cloak around him and using the force to bubble in as much heat as he possibly could....which wasn't helping a whole lot.
During the trip to Hoth Rayn had spent much time thinking about the earlier confrontation with the Sith. He was extrmely powerful, not someone to be taken lightly. He also seemed to hold great authority as he seemed to have no trouble going wherever he pleased. Rayn wondered what his official position within the Empire might be. Whatever it was he had no desire to fight anyone at the moment. The Firrereo, though he seemed quite sadistic, did not appear to have anymore will to battle as he did. And although it was slightly possible that this dark jedi may have been the one who struck down his master he knew when he was outmatched. He also had to complete his training and follow the coordinates his master had left for him. Still...till he found his way out he might as well try to get some kind of information from his captor.
"So, you find me a decent match for your apprentice? I would be honored if I had been given a choice as to whether or not I would fight him...and whether or not killing were necessary. But fine. I'm here and I know there's no chance of taking you on my own, so would you mind answering a few questions while we wait?"

Jeluvitas was amused at the naivety of this grey jedi. thinking killing was not necessary, and his hesitation to fight.
"you say that killing is not necessary, but in reality it is. how do you expect to overthrow the empire? how did the jedi before overthrow the empire? how do animals survive in the wild? and how does one keep another from taking his own life? killing is a fundamental action for the survival of the universe, which is why i do not kill the jedi, so that instead they will live, and rot, and become corrupt as they were. You may ask me questions, but i may not answer them."

Rayn gave the Sith a quizical look, "Thanks for that, but I suggest you know your audience before you go off like that. None of that has anything to do with me. It's not my place to decide who I think should run the galaxy. The Empire can be cruel certainly and the Jedi are generally noble in their pursuits, but the forces who want to overthrow your empire are only mortal and are just as susceptible to corruption. Also, if I'm not strong enough to defeat an opponent without killing them then I'm simply not strong enough yet. Anyway, I'm looking for a dark Jedi or anyone else working under the empire who's allowed to use a lightsaber. Someone who worked in tracking force sensitives who's been at the job for at least the last couple of years....someone who could have taken on the equivalent of a Jedi master?"

"there are at least twenty such sith in the empire that i am aware of, and probably more that i am not, thanks to that blasphemy of the rule of one. with that philosophy you will fall easily. no one can gain power unless they seize it for themselves. you cannot gain strength without taking it from someone else. it is a fundamental law of the universe."

"Then I hope the one who takes it has a need for it. I guess that narrows it down just a bit.." Rayn considered for a moment, "I don't suppose you yourself have been to Commenor in the last couple of years?"

"i may or may not have been there."
jeluvitas began extending his senses to find the cube he had come here for. predicable. it was inside the old rebel base from the days of the first rebellion. unfortunately he was no where near it.

The Chiss was avoiding his questions, rather he did not particularly seem to care. " Alright I'll be straight with you", Rayn said, his voice getting more serious, " Did you kill an Echani man on Commenor last year?"

"i cant remember everyone i killed, but i see no value in killing an echani on commenor. i most likely did not, but if i did, then it would be best you dont follow in his footsteps."

"Right....well I hope your apprentice shows up soon. He may end up having to fight an ice cube."

Rayn thought for a moment. What would he have done if this man or any other were the killer? Since his master's death Rayn continued to remind himself that revenge was wrong, that nothing would come of it. Still...the thought was always tempting... Either way he had to know who had killed him and how the killer had found him and his master. Hopefully he would have the resolve not to take vengeance when the time came.. Regardless of this matter, this Sith seemed to make a point of instigating a matter with every word spoken to him. Rayn decided it was best not to let him know anything. Every bit of information he gave, the Sith would attempt to use as a weapon against him. Rayn cleared his thoughts and focused on the ice in front of him while he imagined the amazing taste of Y'luubi meat.
"For now lets just say I'm looking into something," Rayn said with a bit a cheer, "If you have nothing to do with it then that's all I need to know."

jeluvitas could sense the turmoil inside this human looking being. he decided to press harder
"if you dont wish to take revenge on your enemy, then why do you search for them? what good is knowledge if you gain nothing from it?"

"Look there are suddenly a lot of questions that have come up recently. I need all the answers I can get and thats definately a good place to look." Rayn considered a moment and then gave a slight shrug, "Beside, you can't ask a dead man questions can you?

OOC:(Id like to say that I'm sorry for the late arrival and if you think my enterence is wierd....well...I'm marekis...I'm wierd the end)
Marekis arrives to his destination without any forced haste. Once landing had been completed he hopped out of his cockpit to show a bitter sight indeed. Marekis himself from head to toe was covered in a thin layer of blood and what seemed to be small bits of flesh. He strides leisurily over to the two without a thought of his present appearence.
"I'm sorry for the wait, I was in a small predicament which required my full attention...."
Marekis pauses and decides to answer any question that could be brought up in one swoop.
"...I was in the bathroom..."

"good, you have arrived. i will leave you two here. i must obtain something i had hidden here, and i when i return, we shall see who is stronger of the two of you. until then, entertain yourselves. marekis, there are wampas about a half a mile to the south."
jeluvitas got into his b-wing and left to find the old rebel base.

Marekis perked at Master Jeluvitas' mention of Wampas. He grin widened and he began thinking of all the fun he would soon have.
"Oh what a joyous occasion this is! Now won't this be fun! Might just have to go the bathroom again."
Marekis chuckled at his "sense of humor". After the exit of his master Marekis relized a rather important note. He had no idea who this person was.
"So buddy what's your story? If your an associate of Master Jeluvitas it must be interesting. Your parents get killed and your avenging them? Or maybe your power hungery? Ooo Ooo! Did you get raped and your eternally scarred?......All the above?...."

[glow=red,2,300]Well...this guy is quite.....something....[/glow], Rayn thought... slightly bewildered.
"Uhm...my name is Rayn...n..no.... no...and uh...definately not... I don't really have a story. Nothing of much interest anyway. I'm just a nomad...I happen to be somewhat strong...more so than average anyway. I suppose your...master simply thought I would present a descent challenge for you. Uh..Its nice to meet you"

"Challenge? Master does seem to be throwing bodies at me lately. Ah well no less no more than before."
A strange feeling came from this new walking target. Much different than a Sith and nothing like some innocent by stander. He shook it off walking over and presenting a bloody hand to Rayn.
"Marekis Mudane! I honestly can't think of any dynamic features of myself. I guess it's best seen and not heard."

"Well that kind of attitude I can certainly respect," Rayn said sincerely though still a bit wary, reaching out and doing his best to ignore the gore covering his new acquaintance's hand. "So, what should we do while we wait?"
