As the loud clang sounded off through the air, it served as a single within Marekis. He swung his remaining blade as he spun up from his lean, thanks to a small push from the force. With the momentum it increased the speed and power of his strike, and also allowed him to get into a suitable stance once it was over. Marekis yelled out swinging his blade as the red hue reflected off his silver skin. He saw Rayn formidable, but it angered him that he might lose. Marekis lusted more power, enough to make the very fabric of space and time quiver befor him. But for this dream to be realized, he knew what step he needed to take...

As his blade came around it caught on Marekis' swing, knocking Rayn back onto the snow. Rayn could feel dark energies flowing off of Marekis. Any 'fun' he may have been having from this fight earlier was now gone, his silver sheen betraying the fury that he now held.
Rayn got up quickly and attacked just as swift, attacking in a flurry of 3 strikes: high, middle, then low.

Marekis quickly ducked under the first swing and brought his blade up to block the second. On the third strike he leaped over Rayn slashing out once in air then landing directly behind Rayn. Once he landed he swung once more, aiming for his waist.
[glow=red,2,300]Die! Die! DIE!!![/glow]
Marekis eyes locked on Rayn he was both surprised and humored by Rayn's switch to offense. He watched him closely and could practically see all that blood trapped inside. He wanted to see it fly. It would be the fireworks to his victory, and the celebration of his death...

Rayn ducked and side stepped to avoid Marekis' aerial attack, however he was unable to dodge properly when the next attack came from behind. Rayn stumbled while trying to pivot, his cloak catching on Marekis' saber. Rayn fell back away from his opponent and managed to regain his balance, however it was suddenly much colder. All the heat he had managed to keep drawn to himself was now dispersing without his cloak to help bubble it in.
This is bad. Very very bad. Can't stop moving. Have to keep warm. Think. Need an advantage.....reduce his senses, then strike.
Rayn unclipped and opened his medpack and spare power pack/ cable cartridge pouches, along with his blaster and holster and threw them high up in the air above Marekis. He then surged through him as much energy as he could; when he could no longer contain it he raised his sword, and with a yell, struck the snow in front of him. A could of powder exploded over the area, his blade striking deep beneath the snow, revealing a large patch of the icy glacier, which his blade stuck in. He left his sword and turned toward the red glow in the powdery haze. He closed his eyes and used the force to aid his leap, landing in a spot that beside where he sensed Marekis.
Just like my training on Borao.
Rayn landed as lightly as he could, hoping that Marekis would not be able to tell the difference between his landing and his belongings dropping all around him. With that Rayn focused the rest of the energy he had built up and roundhouse kicked towards his opponents stomach.

Marekis laughed as his saber met Rayns cloak tearing it, exposing Rayn to the elements.
"Awww whats wrong, is the little kiddie cold?" Marekis mocked him childishly.
Marekis was soon distracted by Rayns desperate attempt to distract him. Marekis began looking around frantically as many objects about him. He was unammused by the large display of weakness then realized what he was doing.
[glow=red,2,300]He's trying to distract you! It's a trap![/glow]
Marekis looked around jsut in time to see Rayn kicking at him and attempted to guard but was only fast enough to retain focus and fly back and rebound onto his feet. Marekis lost his air, and winced as he landed and quickly threw his saber with only enough force to move it along.
OOC:ITS A TRAP!!!!

Rayn was breathing heavily, exhausted from using the force and physical abilities to that extent when he was already channeling so much of his energy into trying to keep from freezing to death. As the lightsaber came at him he barely registered it in time to bring his shield up to block it. The saber sputtered lazily off his shield, shorting it out as he knocked it to the ground. Rayn had played his last card. He was hoping to have knocked out Marekis with that attack and maybe his master would have let it go since Rayn himself was 'unsuitable' to train anyway. Now however, he was out of strength, separated from his weapon, and turning into an icicle.
Im all out of options..I might as well be dead now..maybe then they'd leave me alone. Heh...wait..
Rayn looked back to where his beskad was stuck in the ice. He saw deep cracks around it and suddenly had an idea. Glaciers weren't usually just solid blocks of ice; they were riddled with holes an chasms and crevices. The wampas' cave was enough to prove that they were here. If he were to fall down into the depths of the glacier then they might think him to be dead. And why shouldn't they believe that? In his state, odds are he would die.
Likely death is still better than assured death.
Rayn picked up his blaster, power pack. and cable gun and started running toward his sword.

Attempting to stand Marekis winced and fell to his knee again. He saw Rayn runnig to his weapon and could tell he was near defeat. He was slightly happy and stood and began to run, fumbling slightly at first. He ran hardly near his full speed but enough he thought would intercept Rayn. When it came down to it he barely met Rayn to his blade, and as Rayn attempted to retrieve it he swung down at his extended arm.

jeluvitas watched the fight with much enjoyment. his apprentice was definitely the right choice. he had all of the rage and desire to kill that was necessary to become a true sith. he would not be distracted by the idle pleasures of politics and money, he would only be satisfied with the destruction of the galaxy. this was the proper mind set of a true sith. only with a pure rage, untainted by personal gain could one acheive true power. soon, he would turn his apprentice into a living weapon, capable of killing anything in his path.

Rayn hopped back from his blade as Marekis' lightsaber came down to intercept him. His leg buckled as he stumbled back, causing him to fall. He quickly drew his Bryar pistol and loaded the power pack before firing three quick shots at Marekis' feet in an attempt to drive him away.

Marekis jumped up over the shots and summoned his previously thrown saber. Once high in the air he threw one saber down at Rayn and useing the force increased the speed of his falling to shadow his saber coming down with a second strike.

With part of his plan backfiring Rayn moved fast. He set his bryar pistol to full charge, rolled toward his blade, stood, pulled it out and fired into the cracking gash in the ice causing it to start falling apart. As he felt the ice beginning to come apart beneath him, he took a quick glance into the growing hole and saw a dank darkness beneath, before bringing his blade up to block Marekis should he decide to continue his attack.

Surprised with the sudden actions Rayn had taken he lost focus on his strike easily being blocked. Confused as to what he was doing he stared at him, with a fustrated angry glare. Marekis jumped back as the ground below them began to crack away little by little.
[glow=red,2,300]What in the hell...?[/glow]
He looked at the floor then back at Rayn. Knowing the danger he was currently in he ran farther away from the falling ground to avoid being brought down with it. He stared back at Rayn as he ran. Marekis was infuriated by the current events. Did he think he was going to escape? Did he rather die by this fall rather than by Marekis' hands? It all confused and angered Marekis to the point of screaming, but currently he had to get away from the danger zone. Once at a safe location bout 15 feet from Master Jeluvitas he stared back at Rayn and watched as the floor crumbled all around him in anger and fustration...his prey was getting away.

Rayn was quite disappointed that he could no longer finish fighting against Marekis, but he couldn't continue this one..not like this... Disturbed as Marekis was, he did not come off as completely evil to Rayn...maybe there was some hope for him. Either way, Rayn would not allow himself to become a tool that would inflame the darkness he had felt growing within him during their battle. As the ice beneath him gave way and he fell into the abyss, he could only utter a simple, " I'm sorry.."
Falling deeper into the pit the light above continued to fade until finally everything went dark. Rayn was falling into a hole in the ice ,on a frozen wasteland of a planet, with two armed foes who wanted to kill him possesing the only ship offworld..... Luck...no..the Force would decide his fate now...

Marekis ran to the empty hole where his prey had fallen into. He stared into the deep chasm with worry and hesitation. Mind you he wasn't worried for his opponents safety, more that he had escaped death by Marekis' hands. He moved back and forth breathing and stuttering over words he couldn't quite form by his lips. His mind bouncing around from hate, anguish, and depression...mostly hate of course. Every enemy Marekis stood against managed, through some strange event or circumstance, to escape or be rescued or fall to his doom or run of screaming after Marekis had tripped over his new cloak! ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH! This was his chance this was his one opportunity to finally feel a victory of a battle first hand, and once again he was denied that pleasure.
Through sheer anger Marekis struck the ground hard screaming out his rage. A small fraction of the flooring fell in, broken off from the crumbling ground. He stood breathing hard, not satisfied or suppressed by his previous act of rage. He glared into the deep wondering if he had survived, and actually hoping he did. He would not get off that easily. He would suffer, he will scream, he will be tortured till his dieing breathe is pulling from his corpse by Marekis own hands and crushed in front of his wandering spirit till it too fades on to it's after life with a heavy burden.
[glow=red,2,300]And may that heavy burden drag you straight to hell where you belong...[/glow]
Marekis turned to Master Jeluvitas head heavy, avoiding eye contact. He did not wish his master to see him in this state, in fear of disapproval and exile from his company.
"Master Jeluvitas...are we moving along? Or do you wish for me to go in and finish the deed...?"
[glow=red,2,300]Please say yes! PLEASE say yes![/glow]

"you have done well. had it not been for a unpredictable circumstance you would have killed him. that is enough for my motivation for this fight. he will most likely die in that cave, but in the unlikely event he lives, you two will have the chance to fight again when you are both stronger than before. for now, we must leave, and then your real training in the TRUE sith order will begin. it will begin on the moon of onderon, dxun. there is an ancient sith temple, where darth bane reached his full potential. there you will reach yours.

Marekis eyes grew dim, only lit with a spark of inner anger at the mention of the likely death of his opponent. He wished he had done more to stop him but now only wished to move on. He looked up at his master at the mention of his "full potential". What his master had in store was a mystery to him, but asking questions now would only complicate his thoughts with more riddles and problems. Nodded once and bowed his head leting his loose hair mask his face.
"Master I have a request..."
He thought back to every near homicidal incident that had happend over his Sith training. That girl during his trials within the Sith academy, the beastish man that foiled his atempts, the feathered fool of a jedi.....Rayn. He wished them all death and decay from this point on.
" I wish to become strong...stronger than Rayn, stronger than the Emperor, maybe even stronger than you...strong enough to kill them all. With power to even make the fabric of this universe decay at my sheer strength...I want to destroy them...DESTROY THEM ALL!!!"
His face shot up to his master, face void of feeling, eyes fill with rage, soul filled with darkness. His very being thriving on the dream of power, the thought of strength...

"good, some day you will be. when that happens, i will gladly die by your hand, as is the natural order of the true sith. this is the first thing you must learn of the sith order. in the current state, the sith are corrupt. they follow the accursed rule of one, which states that there is one master of the sith, and many minions to serve him. it is corrupt because at any time, the minions can band together and strike down the master. then the minions will fight themselves and eventually a new leader will be named. however, this new master did not deserve his position, as he was not stronger than the previous master."
"the true order was instituted by a great sith named Darth Bane. the order he was taught in was the same as it is now, many sith, all of them weaker than the last, and constantly trying to win through diplomacy and numbers. early in his life, he managed to see through their falsehoods and managed to turn them against themselves, wiping out all sith, except him. then he established the rule of two."
"the rule of two states that there can only ever be two sith, a master and an apprentice, one to possess the power, and the other to crave it. this is your role. you are to stand in my shadow for years, constantly trying to gain the power to destroy me. and then, when the time is right, you will strike me down and then you will be the most powerful sith in the galaxy. this is the natural order. the only way to kill me is to be stronger than me, which when you obtain an apprentice, he will surpass you and become even stronger. this cycle will continue infinitely until nothing can stop the sith."

Marekis nodded in interest. Power beyond any other...He saw the entire order to be like that of a ladders pegs. Once one was done with the next step was taken, atking you higher than you were befor. The only wonder Marekis had was was there an end to it. Where was the ladder and going? Was there a destination, an end to the continuation to increased power over ages of time. Though this question soon faded from his mind, replaced by an image of himself, ruling over everyone, and destroying all those who would dare do to him what those of his childhood had the nerve to.
Marekis' face increasingly became intrigued, skin returning to it's former shade of gold. Then suddenly his face dropped and his skin shot to silver once more.
"...uh yeah...you had me until the entire 'your apprentice shall surpass you' thing...dieing by my students hands seems rather...ironic...doesnt it feel ironic? I THink its ironic...."

"in time you will understand. the only way you can become stronger is if you become so great that no one ever surpasses you. if it makes you feel better, then just aim to never be surpassed. for now we must leave. i shall meet you on dxun."

Marekis agreed with his masters words and headed to his ship. He passed the hole once more glaring for a moment as he walked, giving an inner oath to himself. He would kill him, whether he lives of he has perished. Marekis would find a way. Marekis shook himself away from his inner thoughts and began into a sprint toward his ship. The sooner he's off this icey rock the better. Once reaching the ship he set his destination for Dxun. Lifting off he looked back once more with a small good bye...
"Rot in hell..."
