Odotta was summoned to this obscure and difficult to find planet by an anonymous employer. He had been paid simply to accept the transmission, so he knew there were lots of credits in this, not that he needed them. He was only doing this so that he could get out of this business. Times were changing, and the empire was cracking down. He just wanted to get a nice safety blanket of credits under him so that he could find some hole in the galaxy and disappear to a comfortable and happy life. He landed in a landing field in front of a very extravagant mansion. He was met promptly by a pompous butler who led him into the house. He was led into a very lavish room with stuffed heads all over the walls. Some fat noble was sitting in a chair waiting for him with drinks prepared. "Come! Sit with me and have a drink! We can't talk business when we are thirsty!" he said quite jollily. "I'm sorry, but I dont talk buisness without a clear head. I wouldn't be the best if i did." said Odatta. "Very well, on to buisiness. How much do you know about Rancors?"

"Rancors?! Are you crazy?! You better be paying a whole hell of a lot more if you want me to smuggle rancors for you. What happens if one breaks loose when you load it on?! You would owe me a ship, plus more!"
"Who said anything about loading it? I want you to capture one for me. I don't care where or how, as long as you do it. And i will double whatever offer you want, withing reason. I will even give you the necessary instructions to find one. And i don't want a full grown one, just a baby. In fact, just an egg would be fine. I am a hunter, and I've gotten bored with the animals i have, so I want to try my hand at rancors. The only thing is, I hate traveling. hyperspace just plain scares me, so will you do it?"
Odotta thought for a second, and realized what a great opportunity this could be for him, so he decided to accept, on one condition. "I want five million credits."

"Done!"
Odottaa was shocked, that was the most outrageous price he had ever heard. He didn't expect to get paid anything more than one million. This guy must be seriously loaded to part with that much money for something as simple as a delivery. He shook his massive head and looked back at the man, ready for instructions. The man gave him a data pad with the coodinates of various planets he could find rancors on. The man also gave him a very large, and very unique gun. He could tell just by looking at it that it didn't fire lasers. "That is a gun filled with a very potent traquilizer. Use it on any wild rancors that you need to get through to put them to sleep. Don't worry, it won't leave any lasting effect."

Odottaa grabbed the gun and left the mansion, guided by the same butler as before. He got into his ship and started prepping for take off. He thought to himself how lucky he was to get this deal. It was almost too good to be true. He put the tranq gun in the back of his ship and left the planet for the planet Dathomir. Intersting that this planet was in the same sector of his home planet...

Odottaa landed on the planet with his rancor in the copilot seat. He didn't have the slightest clue how to take care of a rancor, but how hard could it be? As he prepared to land, he began to think. "What if they don't pay me? Five million credits is a lot of money, and men would kill for less than that..." He decided to be prepared for a fight if he needed to be. As he descended through the atmosphere, he also decided to hide this rancor he had somehow befriended, in case the man wished to own this one as well. When he was finished, he commed his employer and sent a quick message saying that he was ready with the goods, and to expect him shortly.

As he landed in the open field of the rich man's manor, he quickly scanned the area to give him an idea of what situation he was walking into. As he expected, there were many auto turrets and droid guns all over the manor, whether or not they would be used on him had yet to be determined. When he walked out the boarding ramp, he saw his client waiting for him with a briefcase in hand. "Five million credits, cash. It is all here. Now bring me my rancor." Odottaa walked back into his cargo bay and picked up the box with the eggs in it. He realized that he never cleaned up the eggshells from before and quickly removed as many as he could find. He easily carried the box back outside and delivered it to the man. The man inspected the eggs and handed the briefcase over. As Odottaa turned to leave the man spoke again. "What happened to the third egg?"

Odottaa was stunned for a second but managed to recover. "[glow=red,2,300]What makes you think there is a third egg[/glow]?"
"The fact that there are broken egg shells in this crate, and that none of the other eggs are broken."
"[glow=red,2,300]Fine, it hatched and i am keeping it for myself.[/glow]"
"That is unacceptable, I must be the only one in control of rancors."
After that, many of the guns came out of their hiding places and pointed at his ship. Using a quick movement, Odottaa grabbed the man and dragged him onto the ship so that the guns could not fire on him. He quickly lifted off and shoved the man into an evac suit and pushed him out the air lock as he signaled for someone to pick him up. After that he blasted to hyperspace to Taris where he could disappear.

Unbeknownst to Odottaa, word spread around the facility of his actions, and small ships were quickly sent up to follow his own, projecting long gravity wells that would keep him from entering hyperspace.

Odottaa attempted to make the jump, but failed. He looked around and noticed that there were gravity wells all around him, so that he had no hope of escape. His only option was to blow a hole in the wells by destroying one of the ships, or at least the generator on the ship. He quickly scanned around him and told his computer to calculate the best option to escape if one generator was put offline. While there were a few that were close to him, none of them would give him the opening he needed, so he would have to travel quite a distance for the closest choice that would give him results. It was a good thing he had modified the engines on this ship, or he might already be dead. He turned his ship to the right direction and put full throttle on.

Mandalore Tarino Vhett entered the system with no time to lose, and quickly sent an encrypted message to the base asking of the Chevin's location. They pinged her back with the numbers and she repositioned her ship and opened full throttle on an intercept vector on his predicted movement. Noticing he was rocketing at an unusually high speed for a YU-410 towards one of the gravity well projectors, she opened up a link with the pilot, warning him to move out of the way. "By the authority of the boss of your boss." "I don't care who you are, I only take orders form the boss, and my orders are to keep that Chevin from entering hyperspace," the pilot responded insolently. Tarino rolled her eyese, and tapped the autopilot as she used her master code to remotely take control of the gravity ship, moving it out of the way, causing Odottaa to approach the edge of the well twice as fast as he had been. "Hey, what the-- what do you think you're doing, lady?" "I told you, I run the show around here." She input the code for the gravity ship to land back on the surface of Terephon, and took control of her own ship again, charging the ion cannons to full blast. She muttered to herself. "Is everyone else incompetent?" then took one well-aimed blast at the Chevin's ship as he reached the boundaries of the solar system's gravitational influence. The ion beam speared out, striking true, interrupting all of Odottaa's sytems and scrambling the hyperspace numbers that had been stored in the hyperdrive for immediate usage. The YU-410 froze in space, drifting with momentum towards the rim of the solar system as Vhett reangled her course and matched her vector parallel to that of Odottaa's. She sent a message to his com address, and waited for a response.

OOC: gah! i cant read the white font with my backround!!
The chevin thought he was home free as he saw the gravity generator moving out of his way and deactivating, but then he was shot by an ion cannon from behind him. Seeing as how he didn't have many other options, he might as well listen to the stranger. He opened his comm to the channel he was given, while he waited for his ion fail-safes to kick in and restart his ship so he could make the jump
What is it that you want with me? I gave you the rancors and I was payed for them. What difference does it make if one smuggler keeps one as a pet?!

The difference it makes is that im no longer the only one with a rancor as a pet.
she paused as she thought of something
You have no idea who i am, do you? i am tarino vhett, current mandalore, personal acquaintence of the emperor, and quite possibly the only friend to the much feared darth jeluvitas. However, i am reasonable, so prepare to be boarded where we can talk about this without compromising security
she began drawing the dead ship towards her with her tractor beam

OOC: much better with the gray font
Tarino? Mandalore? Jeluvitas? Odottaa had no use for these titles he had never heard of. Well maybe once or twice he heard of a person called mandalore, but the stories he heard were much to unlikely to be real, so such a person couldn't exist by his standards. And as for the rest of them, he cared very little about the empire, and anyone could say they were connected, but very few of them could back up the claim. He must have heard of at least ten different pirate groups claiming to be with the empire, and all of them could be trusted about as far as you could throw them, despite fact that Chevins probably could throw them very far...
But seeing as how she had several guns on his tail, and he had no hyperdrive, he should probably be the kind host until he could make the jump.
"Alright, you have my attention. Come over when you are ready"

By then the tractor beam had brought Odottaa's ship up to hers and she extended the magnetic claws, clamping it to hers, then extended the universal connector tube to his door. She pressed a key to send one last preventative ion shock through the ship to keep all systems off, just in case. She quickly but surely equipped her armor and all of her excessive weaponry, some of which had never been seen by non-mandalorian eyes, due to a lack of necessity of use, luckily for the non-mandalorians. Finishing up, she opened her hatch and floated in the non-gravity towards Odottaa's ship. Remotely overriding the controls, she sent just enough power to open the door, then cut it off as soon as she had landed safely in Odottaa's artificial gravity field. She approached the Chevin, which many would consider ugly, but she merely held a respect of sentient life for. "So the way I see it is, you tried to double-cross me, am I right? Let's get that out of the way first." She stared him down through her T-visor, knowing that even though he couldn't see her eyes, the effect of the so widely-known symbol of power and lethal efficiency was felt by virtually all.

Odottaa swore when he saw the second ion burst and restarted the rebooting process. Then he quickly turned off his monitors as his enemy began to board. After she spoke, he replied, "How did i double cross you? The deal was for me to bring one or more rancors of any age to your agent, and I would be paid. The deal never said that I couldn't keep one for myself."

I suppose it didn't. However, i can't have some smuggler running around with a rancor.
tarino thought for a second and decided she would make another deal with this chevin.
you now have two options. one: die, two, give back half of your payment, and do a "favor" for me. There is someone that i was supposed to keep an eye on, and it would be easier to have someone else do it for me, or at least put a tracker on them.

Odottaa thought for a bit and decided that he did not have any other choice. At least he would be able to keep his rancor. He would worry about the repercussions of this later, and he would do a good sweep of his vehicle when she was gone, but for now, he would live if he listened to this woman.
"I suppose you have yourself a deal then. How do you suppose i find this kid you're talking about?"

he responds to the name eth erzin, but that may just be a bounty hunter doctored name. as good as my contacts are, they dont reach into jedi enclaves. not even the emperor has that good of contacts. right now he is on corascant. i would assume doing something on a jedi acadamy that we know is there. it will be up to you to find it. his ship is called the illuminant rush
she held out a small tracking device. she pressed a button and a holo image of a hydrospanner formed over it.
you can turn this into any item you want, as long as you upload an image of it into the device. just hide this on his ship without him noticing. another feature it has is that it only sends a signal out at random intervals and can sense scanners searching for its signal. that way he wont be able to find it. do this, and your free to go. do it well enough and fast enough, and i might have some more things for you to do.

Fine, but after what happened here, I'm not sure i would want to work for you again..."
He sat down, now that his ship had come back online and began repunching his coordinates. He mumbled distractedly to her as he was doing it
"I'm sure you can find your way out the door."
As soon as she left, he would make the jump.

Tarino left the ship and returned to her own. she disengaged the airlock and then punched in coordinates herself and left for her own destination at the same time as her new employee, even if he was just a temp.
