They slowed to a stop as Rayn felt the imprint of Jeluvitas grow more radiant. He had found the Sith Lord's safe-house.
"This is it.." he muttered. He used the Force to slide a wire rack cabinet out of the way, clattering several tools as he did so.
He felt around the wall, once more immersing himself in the Force. There was no visible marking on the walls- nothing to signify any sort of way to open the passage. With his unique skill, no one but he could have figured opened the way short of using industrial explosives. And he was glad it had not been anyone else. Among the things he had seen was a trap set- thermal detonators lined the entire chamber, rigged to detonate if anyone attempted to force their way in to obtain Jeluvitas' hidden treasures.
He felt a series of toggles within the wall; one by one he switched them in the same order he saw the Sith doing in his psychometric visions. In a moment there was a deep thunk as a mechanism slid in to place to raise the entrance.
Once they had stepped within, the entryway slid back to shut behind them. As soon as it did, blue lines began to course their way along the ornately carved face of the door behind them, quickly spreading throughout the rest of the chamber to cast the entire interior in an azure hue. The decor and design of the place was ornate, yet tastefully simple. And the entire entry corridor was lined on either side with dozens of priceless works of art from different planetary cultures.
"Well this is.....pleasant and unexpected. Who knew the man was so classy?"

This was baffeling! Marekis shocked and astonished at the room before him was nearly speechless. Through all the time Marekis had been with Jeluvitas not once did he see anything quite this grand and spectacular. Marekis was always left on the most inconvieniant, muddy, dark, damp regions of the galaxy, no where near a solid luxury of society, probably with good reason. Marekis always had a habit of not mixing well with society, but still this was just surprising.
"The blue sleemo was holding out on me..."

As they passed the exquisite works, one piece in particular grabbed his attention. "Ah. That explains it." he said regarding a statue depicting another Chiss in a uniform reminiscent of Old Imperial design.
Next to Thrawn was another statue carved from a much darker stone. It looked ancient, as much of the detail was eroded, but Rayn recognized the unique headgear from his time studying in the Archives on Korriban.
He glanced back at Marekis, "Rule of Two, huh...?" he muttered to himself. "So," he said more loudly, turning back to the figures, "You're master was pretty into Bane wasn't he?"

He nodded at Rayn solemnly. The rule of two was the first thing Marekis was taught and it was the final reasoning in all his actions. In order to gain true power. A master takes an apprentice, and trains them to a point where they may surpass them, and they may have an apprentice of their own. As was Marekis to Jeluvitas, another would be to him one day. Perhaps.
In Jeluvitas' final moments he seemed to forget these lessons. He regret his decision. Marekis saw it in his eyes. Which was unforgivable. As much of a shame as it was, this was a lesson as anything else was. Marekis was to never become his master. he must be something more.
"It was what I was to always be. I believe he almost wanted to craft me in the image of Bane, or maybe just his ways. More or less, he succeeded. He is dead after all. And one day the cycle will begin anew..."
Marekis stared to the floor, uncertain what his future had in fold. It was rather difficult with his past coming up so quickly on him. As unclear as it may be, his mind was going dark. Darker.

Rayn stared speechless at Marekis for a moment,"Wow....that's.....that's the first time I've heard you sound so serious!" he laughed merrily.

He rolled his eyes and slapped Rayn in the back of the head in the usual manner. "Just find what we need to find and let's get out of here!"
With these thoughts Marekis realized he was making hardly any effort to increase his power. He needed to get back on track and until Rayn let him out of custody, the sooner he could learn more powerful techniques. Maybe even produce his own.

Rayn didn't even feel the hit this time as he laughed. "Alright- heh! Alright, lets see what we can find."
They found 3 rooms in the place: a storage closet- filled with everything from food to deadly poisons, the living quarters- which were much more simple and economical as one would expect from the efficiency obsessed Sith, and a workshop- which had a workbench full of what looked like lightsaber and holocron prototypes.
There was one more room bigger than the rest however- a study filled with archaic books and various notes and torn pages pinned to a mag-board on the wall. Rayn took a seat at the desk and put his hands flat on the surface. Once more he slipped into the dream-like visions that came to him from the psychic imprints.
It was a very disturbing feeling for him this time. In this spot Jeluvitas had spent much time and thought poring over his studies that he had hardly bothered to conceal his presence here. He felt as though he was the Sith Lord, and for a brief moment held his breath as though the ghost might notice his presence there as well. He quickly relaxed however, reminding himself it was all the equivalent of a holo-recording and could not hurt him no matter what.
He reigned in his focus and tried to call forth the most recent actions that had taken place here. It was then that he a series words caught his eye in a tome Jeluvitas was reading.
"...the living world..."
Rayn's breath caught in his throat. There was only one planet that he could think of at that phrase; many believed it a myth- what few remained who knew of it at all that is. His master had told him the tale though when he was younger. The living planet- Zonama Sekot.
He burned the thought in his mind like a wildfire, using it a a sort of psychic cross-reference to the visions in order to find all the times Jeluvitas had been thinking about it. He saw hours and days of the Chiss poring over manuscripts. He saw the map of what few charted areas of the Unknown Region there were on the board behind him and the red dots he had pinned to it. He saw more vague reference in ancient passages.
Finally he found what he was looking for. He saw Jeluvitas walk into the room looking....pleased? Went to one of the bookshelves in the upper loft and flipped through the pages till he found what he was looking for. It was an old spacer's journal. There was an illustration of what appeared to be... some sort of bird. He then opened a drawer and pulled out an outdated holo-recorder with a tape in it. It activated it. A female human with wavy blonde hair appeared.
"....the living ships are native to this planet. Their 'seeds' are cultivated in special nests throughout the world. They are considered sacred places and are well protected by the Ferroans and Langhesi I've done several recordings of their speed, maneuverability, and reaction time...." the woman blinked for a moment searching for words,"I've never seen anything living or machine that can outmatch what these ships are capable of...And with the help of the shapers and incorporation of the Yuuzhan Vong's own living technology, it is their hope to be able to make a completely pure, living vessel without the need to fit it with conventional drives and nav computers. But enough of that for now, on to my other findings-"
Rayn could feel the Sith's dark satisfaction as he got up and quickly walked out of the room.
Rayn got up and followed him. His body appearing to be in a sleepwalking daze.

The chamber was simply fascinating! Marekis studied the workbench, finding blueprints, books, archaic designs. It was a Siths dream. He found designs for the very gauntlet on his wrist. He smiled at the time he had put into building the piece, but this was useless to him. He needed something more. He knew where his master wanted him to train. Energy. How to bend it to his command. Marekis grinned at the thought of such power. This alone could change the tide of battle.
He quickly scanned over several books. Most dealing with sith lightning and it's many uses. It had to be here some where. He had to have kept something he had planned for Marekis, something to pass on to him.

Rayn followed 'Jeluvitas' into the workshop. When he approached the wall at the far end he moved a series of toggles, similarly to the front entrance; when Rayn tried to follow however, he almost lost his connection to the vision a he ran into the wall. "Right..."
He quickly activated the same toggles and followed after him. After following the dark passage for a while, they came upon a large landing bay which must have been hidden just inside the mountain wall. That's when he saw it.
The domed top was bright and polished, like a giant Krayt pearl. Flesh-like, light blue tendrils wove around the base in an ornate pattern, leading down to the main body; egg shaped, with wings that curved forward like horns and plates of alabaster white covering much of the main structure.
As it pulsed with an inner light, Rayn thought it may have been the most magnificent thing he had ever seen. And it was crying out in pain.
Rayn heart grew heavy with the pain he felt rolling off of the creature; and his stomach churned as he felt the pleasure Jeluvitas was taking from it. The ship was tethered down to a large repulsor platform with thick stun cables. Jeluvitas reached with the Force to push the poor creature into the loading bay of a freighter. In just a few minutes he was gone.
Rayn shuddered as the vision ended and he found himself in the cold dark hangar of the present. Lately his psychometric visions had been more vivid- sometimes transitioning into a technique that the Watchers called flow walking. This was far more intense than any he had had before though. As his mind swirled with a thousand different thoughts he looked around and realized- Where's Marekis?

No. No. No. He threw the books around the room, as the cluttered the floor, pages littering the area. There was much to read. Much about ancient arts, sith, jedi. It was all overwhelming information, just not what he was looking for. Marekis pocketed several books, but he feared he wouldn't find anything of great use in them, he might even need to create new abilities from what the books could teach. His master had great plans for him. He had better succeed them.

"Marekis!" Rayn shouted as he bolted through the door, "Listen I-- wha....?"
Rayn looked around for a moment at the mess of books now strewn across the floor.
"Marekis, are you here?"

A rustle was heard followed by the clambering of feet kicking books aside. Marekis head rose from a heap of literature as he nodded to Rayn in confirmation. "Well this was pointless! sleemo left nothing for me! And I thought we got a long great."
He pushed a tower of books to the ground, stepping over them as he approached Rayn. "So what did you find?"

"I know what Jeluvitas was doing here. We need to get to Coruscant as soon as possible." Rayn turned and began to sprint down the hallway, "Come on! I found a shortcut outside!"

"Convenient you find that AFTER the big robot battle!" Marekis sprinted after him. The books he had taken with him would be of little help, but he was excited to read them thoroughly none the less.

When they had reached the hangar Rayn went straight for the blast-door control panel, "Give me a minute. It'll take some time to get this old thing working again."
The hydraulics of the door whirred to life with a beastly wail. Just as they were a few meters open another sound came from the corner of the hangar.
"......GET DOWN!"
Rayn dove out of the way- the control panel bursting into shrapnel as the dart missile detonated.
His head was spinning as he saw the headless body of the YVH re-arming itself.

Marekis ran to a hard sprint leaping high above Rayn starting his gauntlet and powered his fall with the force coming down with twice the force.

The YVH droid stumbled back as Marekis tore a massive gash in its armor. Its chestplate opened up unleashing a flurry of heavy blaster bolts.

"This is going to hurt!" He screamed as he pushed his saber into the chest compartment, twisting it around inside. Several blaster shots managed to hit him in the arms and one in the torso just barely missing his healed wound.

"Marekis!"
Rayn reached out and loosed a shockwave that sent the smoldering husk that remained of the droid off of Marekis and crashing into the wall. He came immediately to Marekis' side and helped him to his feet. His nostrils twitched as the smell of burning flesh wafted in the air.
"You know-- this whole insane rushing headfirst into death thing? Hurmph! Doesn't seem to be wonders for your health."

"Well... You smell funny."
He grunted as he came to his feet, brushing dust and ash off his pants. The pain was far from overwhelming. He had become adjusted to it over time. It was almost in the norm to be in vast amounts of suspenive pain, that is just became ritual.
He pushed Rayn off to the side, reacting as nothing ever happened.
"So shall we exchange information, tell each other about our deepest darkest secrets, or maybe we should get the kark out of this hell hole."
