As the platform descended through the shaft the only light came from the glowing runes beneath their feet. Rayn had shut himself off from the Force once again.
"I'm not going to lie, this is very strange for me having you here. I know you probably feel like all of this is being forced on you, but I really do feel like you deserve a chance to know what is like to......well, to be apart of the universe that's not obsessing about death, darkness, and the domination of others."

"Sounds pretty boring to me."
Marekis squinted as the floor lit up, having changed the feel of dark dampness completely. He shrugged it off and kept his eyes open for anything of interest. If he was forced to be here he might as well get something out of it. He was on a constant search to increase his strength. And if it can be stolen, so let it be.

Another few minutes of descending through the pit and the platform came to a stop. As it did lambents lit up a pathway before them. As they walked farther through the dimly lit passage there was a growing sensation in the Force; a welling tide of raw power, similar to the feeling back on Ambria at Lake Naath.
Rayn looked back over his shoulder, "Can you feel that?"

"No! I'm completely blind!" Marekis shouted sarcastically.
There was something here. Something with great power and a powerful connection to the force. He couldn't really put his finger on it, but it reminded him of somewhere. Ambria perhaps. With this much power just below his feet, there could be anything here to help him become stronger. Perhaps this wasn't a waste of time after all.
"What is it?"

"Over a thousand years ago a battle was fought here on Ruusan. The event that ended the last great Sith-Jedi war of the old republic. It ended in catastrophe, with the entire Sith order of that age being wiped out, as well as the greatest of the Jedi's knights."
Natural light washed over the two of them as they reached the end of the tunnel. The cavern was vast, with many holes and passages lining the walls and ceiling. The light was filtering down from several large holes above, although none of it touched the cavern directly, thus most of the cavern remained as dim as much of the rest of the tunnel had been. But even in this light the decor was impossible to ignore. Great statues and altars ascended all around them. Some about nine feet tall, some almost a hundred. As they walked amongst the ruins the maelstrom of energy flowed more densely.
"This place was built by the Jedi order in order to honor those who had fallen. To remember their sacrifice. Today our order uses it as a reminder of the consequences of the actions two sides of opposite, but equal extremes can create. Their personal conquest to wipe each other out almost ripped the galaxy apart- and they paid for it dearly."

Gazing around the chamber Marekis bit his lip. As much as he hated this twinkle toed cult, he had to admit: This was pretty impressive. He stumbled around the vast room, gliding his hand across the shorter statues. He felt a great stength here. The force nearly was iraddiating from this glowing tomb. Marekis opened himself up letting the energy flow through himself. Where was this coming from? There must be a source! Marekis turned to Rayn and slapped his shoulder.
"Impressive. Where's all this energy coming from? Has to have some main origin in here somewhere right?"
He stepped away and gazed around the chamber once more. He felt the dark side of the force screaming to him. Marekis soul shriveled in his walking corpse. He felt welcomed, but humbled.

They came upon a steeped dias which seemed to be the epicenter of the force nexus.
Rayn gave him a lopsided smile, "I'm afraid you won't find any grand artifact here."
They walked the steps of the dias. The platform was intricately carved with many circular patterns and in the center stood a statue wrought in some sort of dark metal. It was a grotesque visage resembling scores of different figures from varying races, their features all were deformed and twisted in anger and pain- writhing as if trying to escape the inhuman mass.
"One of our brothers of the Paladins recently made this sculpture to commemorate this place. The Thought Bomb. The ultimate Sith technique of malice and hatred. The Brotherhood of Darkness used it in a final desperate attempt to defeat and spite the Jedi. All it did however was trap both sides in a pocket dimension. A tiny realm where pain and despair wracked at the souls of hundreds of Sith and Jedi for over a thousand years. They were fortunate that a Jedi knight who happened upon this place centuries later was able to release their souls from the eternal torment, but even still this place remains a quagmire of raw emotion and power." he turned to Marekis then, "This is ultimately the sort of fate that the pursuit of power and domination will lead you to. In the end there will be nothing, but pain and suffering. I know you tend to relish that sort of thing, but be honest- what being can live with that torment for the rest of their days? Can death and loneliness really appeal to you that greatly?"

Marekis turned away. Rayns words resonated inside him and rang throughout his memories. He began to within himself past times, thoughts that were best left buried. Marekis brushed his hair back and closed his eyes. He felt himself sink, or rather dive, into his thoughts, into a box that was left close for many years.
A small child appears, playing beneath a a large wooded tree. He smiles as he chases after a ball. The moment is broken with another child's scream. His mouth moves but no words can be heard, but the message is all the same. The child walks to the small boy and slaps his hand. Cryin the child falls to the ground. He crawls against the dirt like a worm, groveling with himself. Marekis finds himself in front of the boy. He reachs out to touch him but his hand passes through. Marekis screams but once again the silence can not be broken. The child runs to a figure in the distance, that soon lifts him up into the air and holds him close and dear. Marekis stared close at the figure as it arose from the ground. It's eyes would not meet his. Marekis takes a step closer to it when it''s eyes shoot to him. The eyes are missing and a maggot crawls from one socket to another. It let's out a bone chilling screech as a piece of flesh falls from it's mouth and Marekis is shot away from it. Two large gate doors slam shut echoing through out dark space.
Marekis eyes shot open as he found himself standing in a pool of his own sweat. His head shot around the chamber and he grabbed at a nearby statue trying to take hold of anything to hold his ground. He panted and clutched his chest as his eyes stuck to the floor. Unpleasant as this feeling was. It seemed famliar. It seemed close to his being. The chamber around him. It was doing something to him. The force was forcing him into a part of himself. But it was locked away. Marekis could only stare at his memories through windows of a sealed home.
He needed out of here. Soon.

"Marekis!?" Rayn bolted to his side, "Are you alright? I'm sorry- I should perhaps not have brought you here..."
Rayn offered his hand to help him up.

"Get off me you fool!"He screamed and slapped his hand away.
Marekis pushed himself upward and walked away from Rayn. This presentaion had to be cut short, or Marekis might be responsible for his actions.
"Get me out of here. Now!"
