As the Shadow Dagger (the name Rayn had finally decided to give his Bes'ullik) entered the atmosphere of Ruusan, Rayn activated a transponder signal which would alert his comrades of his return. He decided to check on his passenger's condition before initiating landing protocols.
"Are you still alive back there? You've been unusually quiet on the way here."

Marekis lay brooding in the back. The adrenalin rush from killing his master had faded and he was in a ship with a past rival, that in all honesty, should be dead. He Shouted back up to his companion.
"Nope. Dead. And being dead makes me think. If this is what being dead is like. I am SO sorry to all those I have ruthlessly butchered."
He waved a hand in the air sarcastically painting a fake apology.

Rayn became somewhat upset by that comment, "Well, don't worry you'll have some help soon."
As they approached the surface the first thing visible was a large, dark fissure which spanned several kilometers.
"I apologize in advance for this, but you had best hold on to something." He pulled the slender fighter into a tight reverse half-roll and began to plunge straight into the ravine.

"Sorry I didn't catch that wha-"
Far too late for that. As Rayn plunged the Shadow Dagger deeper into the ravine Marekis was flung all about the hanger. He landed several times on his wound and shouted out in pain in result. Rayn was a traitor! He was trying to murder him in less conventional means! Now that Marekis thought about it, that would be a very unique way of doing things. He'd have to try it for himself one day.
"Damn you Rayn! If your going to kill me, stick a knife in my eye, or something less painfull then tossing me around this damn ship of yours!"

Rayn smirked a bit, but did not let Marekis see. He used telekinesis to keep Marekis in place. "Sorry about the sudden warning, I'm so used to this run by now that I sort of forgot about this part."
When they had reached about the Midway point of the ravine Rayn cut the engines and leveled the ship out with repulsors so that it was hovering in front of one of the great cliff faces. It was then that they saw the Citadel.
Protruding out of the cliff wall, so that it could never be visible except from this approach, was the front of what looked like some great, dark, and elaborately designed cathedral. There were several small entrances strewn about which led to several terraces and balconies across the outside of the structure, but the only entrance big enough for the ship seemed to be a large blast door placed discreetly beneath the main structure.
The waited there for a moment while turbo-laser batteries throughout the facility could be noticed targeting the fighter.

Marekis looked around the area unsure. He still didn't fully trust rain. He felt like he shouldn't be with him, like he should be out becoming stronger. But in his current state he wasn't one to argue, and Rayn never seemed like the kind of guy who would stab the back of a wounded man. He took one more look around the landscape and spat out at Rayn.
"So where the hell are we at...?"
As they made their way around to the large blast door Marekis snorted. Hadn't been able to make that out till he saw it from this close. Clever.

He knew that he was taking a large risk by letting Marekis see where the Citadel was located, but he was willing to make that gamble of trust if it meant he could find a way to come to an understanding with him. After a few moments the turrets returned to their original positions and the door to the hangar opened. Within the hangar were several unique and exotic craft whose primary functions seemed to be stealth, speed, and discretion.
Rayn landed the ShadowDagger in his assigned docking area. There several figures stood waiting. He jumped out of the ship as soon as all the systems were shut off and walked up to a tall Elomin male. He had gaunt, craggy features and sharp, unpolished bone protrusions. He was clad in smoke grey armor plating underneath a black cloak. Behind him stood two women, an echani and a dark blue twi'lek, both of whom were garbed in lighter, but similar armor.
Rayn gave him a slight bow, "Praetor Kagreh, it is good to see you again."
"You may forget about pretense Rayn," he said in a tone that was flat, but direct,"Our seers have sensed the passenger you have brought with you when you arrived at our gates. They sense a potent darkness. Explain yourself."
"Sir, I am acquainted with this individual. He does indeed posses some....less than exemplary traits, but I sense that there is much conflict within him." Rayn paused for a moment and thought carefully, "In truth I had hopes that he may find redemption here as many have before him, but I know that is a decision that only he- and the council can make. For the time being he is wounded and I feel that to lose him would be a dire waste. The Force seems to have some greater plan for him- I can feel it, I have seen signs."
Kagreh stared at the fighter intensely before looking back at Rayn, "I sense you may be right in some way and that it is both your courses being guided, but I fear this may bring more ill than good....We will treat him and house him here- for now. But as soon as he is well enough he will be questioned."
Rayn smiled slightly before bowing again, "My thanks Praetor."
With that the Elomin turned sharply and headed down the corridor out of the hangar. The two guards accompanying him however walked toward the Shadow Dagger. The Twi'lek pushed a grav-gurney toward the ship and used the force to lower Marekis down onto it. The Echani Woman stopped and gave Rayn an admonishing look, "You've been nothing but trouble since you came to us you know." Rayn gave an apologetic smile, "Sorry Lenora, I just have this feeling....I truly think this is the right thing to do." She smiled back at him, but put on another serious look when she spoke again, "Just be prepared for whatever consequences this may incur."
Lenora began to walk with the gurney as the Twi'lek woman carted Marekis out of the hangar, "I'm going to begin some preliminary healing on you as we head to the med-bay. I don't want you dying before we have a chance to operate." She placed her hands over the gaping wound as they walked through the corridors. A soft light emitted from them as she attempted to sooth and clot the wound to prevent further bleeding.

Marekis remain silent. He felt he did not belong here. He rarely felt like he belonged anywhere infact, but this case was much more so. As he was carted away he shot a dangerous look at anyone who approached him. He was not used to this. Being helped. Being weak. Being vulnerable. He glared at Rayn with a look that said, I swear if I don't like this you and everyone else is dead. He meant it too. He did not want to be here. He needed to become stronger. He NEEDED strength. But as long as he had this gaping hole in his gut. He would not be able to do much, so he had little choice in the matter. He looked up at the woman and snarled.
"Careful down there. I need some of that stuff I think. Not too sure about most of it, I can only assume from past experience. "
It was true. Whenever Marekis had run someone through, they usually died. It was something he had come to expect.

"Don't worry, we're almost there." she responded dryly .
When they reached the med bay the Twi'lek woman took Marekis inside while Lenora stopped to speak to Rayn.
"You should go and report to the council now, they're anxious to hear about the situation on Ambria." "Right. Be careful around him. And try not to let him get to your head too much." he smiled and turned to head down the corridor.
She went into the med bay to find the Twi'lek woman standing guard by the door and their doctor, a Sullustan male, was putting a cauterizing patch on Marekis' wound. "Alright, now this may sting a bit."

"Couldn't hurt anymore than looking at that ugly mug you call a face..."
Marekis snorted at his humor, only to grab around in pain seconds later.
"Oh maybe not...Nope...that definitely hurts more."
He looked around a moment to notice Rayn had left. sleemo left him in the hands of several people he had no knowledge. They could be capable of many things. This situation was not beneficial. Not at all.

The Sullustan doctor chuckled, "Relax kid, you'll be fine. I've seen plenty of nasty wounds on the field in my day. You're actually pretty lucky, this wound managed to miss most of your organs and about half of it was already cauterized. You've lost a lot of blood though and you are definitely bleeding internally. So since you are miraculously still conscious I'll give you two options. One- I can dope you up, operate here and now, and patch you up with some bacta salve; two- you can take a dip in the bacta tank where the micro-machines can fix up your insides while you doze off. Option two will have you just about fully fixed up by the time you are out, but that will take several days. Option one you should be back on your feet within a couple of days, but you wont fully heal for a while and you'll have to take it easy if you don't want to open up again."

Marekis looked down at his still open wound. He remembered the pain of the saber pushing out of his stomach, the horrid feeling of electricity coursing through his every fiber as his master attacked him. He remembered it all. Every detail was a brush stroke across every edge of his mind. He shook his head trying to forget. His master was thrown through hyperspace and just got up and walked it off. He didn't even know what that entailed but he knew one thing. Jeluvitas was strong. But there are only stronger to be found. Only worse enemies to face. Greater pain to overcome.
"Have you ever have a saber work it's way through your stomach? I thought not. Now with that aside. Hold the pain killers. I wanna be awake for all this..."

The doctor raised his brows, " Well, alright then. I won't tell you what to do. Force knows I've had plenty of patients endure some pretty grueling procedures due to some kinda hoodoo belief. Best brace yourself though."
The doctor removed the gauze and pulled out a scalpel and a needle.

Marekis clenched both fists tight. Unlike what the doctor said he didn't want to use the force to null any of the pain. It would be anti-productive. He grinned as a bead of sweat dripped down his head. This was going to hurt.
A lot.

odotta was in the obstacle section of the yard leaning against a wall. he had changed a lot since he got here with rayn. a brief moment of nostalgia overcame him as he reflected on it. mid-memory, a rancor shattered the wall behind him and took a swipe at his head. he rolled out of the way, berating himself for losing focus like that. he ran along the wall to where there were handholds he cut into it. he quickly climbed up the handholds with an agility one wouldnt expect out of a being such as himself. he ran the length of the wall with the beast knocking it down behind him the whole way. he reached the end of the length of the wall to jump accross a gap on to a small hovering platform. he was just short of it and hung from the edge as the rancor continued to chase him. he just barely manged to pull himself up on to it before the rancor caught his legs. in the middle of the platform was a lone pistol. he grabbed it and fired one shot right between its eyes.
"Check and mate."
the rancor took the shot in the head right between his eyes. it rolled over on the ground, and odottaa jumped off the platform to land next to it.
"thats two to one tahto. that means you have to clean up the dead animals killed by the defenses"

Rayn was leaning on the Stone carved railing on the terrace over-looking the training course. He smiled as he watched the two of them go at it. He was glad Odottaa had decided to stay with the Paladins when they finally came here. He seemed to be enjoying himself more, especially with Tahto around.
"That was close!", he shouted down, "You'll have to be quicker next time, his legs are even longer than yours now!"

"well look who's back from ambria."
odottaa walked over to rayn. he was in a good mood, better than he had ever been since he arrived here. it was hard at first, adjusting to all the force sensitives, accepting they werent all the same as the self righteous jedi, but with time he had learned to trust them.
"the longer his legs get, the better team we make. that was us fighting each other. you can just imagine what we are like when we force meld. how was the mission? find us a new base location?"

"It looks promising, but we may have to have some scouts there for a while. There was a strange disturbance in the Force while I was there, it might attract unwanted attention to the planet....Come on, You'll hear more about it at my debriefing."

Disturbance? what could anyone possibly want with a nexus of grey energy? dont both the jedi and sith usually go for light or dark energy? always up their own ass with their morality, and they overlook the fact that they dont need to be a righteous little... sorry, got a little carried away there... lets get to that debriefing. im interested to hear about your trip.

[MEANWHILE]
Several hours after the surgery Lenora came back into the medical wing.
"How's your patient doc? We don't want to rush too much if he's still in critical condition, but the council has been putting off the debriefing for a while now hoping that he would be able to provide some additional information as to what happened on Ambria."
The small Sullustan looked up from s microscope and rubbed his bulbous eyes while addressing her. "Well, I think he passed out for a bit after surgery. I hope he did anyway, his systems need a chance to recover. In my professional opinion he should be given a couple days rest, but if the council thinks its so important, well...", he gestured to the curtains behind which Marekis' recovery bunk was, " Go ahead and see for yourself."
Lenora walked over to the curtains and spoke softly, "Marekis...? That's your name right? Are you awake?"
