History: Born and raised on the forested world of Wert, Alek spent the first fourteen cycles of his life eking out a near-subsistence farming existence. The fifth of eight children, Alek toiled with his father and older borthers to bring in enough food to keep his family fed. Unfortunately the Kurov family could not keep pace with the Ebon Corporation’s wide scale, droid labored agriculture operations on Wert, and so the family land was foreclosed, forcing the family to move to the city of Alanrest. In Alanrest, Alek and his brothers worked whatever jobs they could, but there was very little work to be found.
The two oldest Kurov brothers joined the Royal Hapan Army to help support their family, but soon after enlisting both died when their troop freighter suffered a hyperdrive malfunction. Alek’s mother was grief-stricken and forbade any of her other children to join the armed forces. The family’s financial situation continued to worsen along with Alek’s mother’s physical condition. After his father missed one of the payments on their loans, the Ebon Corporation hired a local bounty hunter who took Alek’s youngest sister as payment and sold her to a slave broker on Nal Hutta. This drove Alek’s mother into an oblivion of insanity in which she never recovered. In grief, Alek’s father turned to drinking and he squandered what little money was brought in. Alek’s other sisters were sold into slavery to pay for his father’s drinking addiction, leaving only his younger brother and himself.
At the age of seventeen Alek went against his dead mother’s wishes and enlisted in the Royal Hapan Navy. Despite shoddy school attendance for most of his life, he was accepted into the Naval Academy due to natural talent. At the academy he was looked down upon for being a commoner from Wert by the noble-born students. Despite intense hazing and harassment, he continued to succeed and prove himself through raw talent and unflinching determination. After three years he graduated as a Lieutenant in the top five percent of his class and was assigned to the RHS Battle Dragon, Chant of Victory as a pilot. At the age of twenty-three he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and posted to the RHS Nova Battle Cruiser Azure Wind as a Flight Leader. That is currently where he is stationed.
Personality: A hard working young man who pulled himself out of poverty by his bootstraps, the hardships of his childhood have forged him into a staunch adversary of injustice. Loyal to the Hapes Consortium foremost, he has sworn to give his life for his star nation and his Queen Mother. He has been noted and commended by his peers and commanding officers for his unflinching faithfulness and devotion, but under his austere military façade lies a hatred towards the Ebon Corporation and a desire for revenge. He enjoys Corellian whiskey on his off hours along with a good game of Pazaak. He greatly dislikes stupidity and incompetence.
Physical Description: 5’9”, blue eyes, brown hair, but head is shaved, on the thinner side, good physical condition, pale skin thanks to the last four years in space
