(Pts) The Imperial-Sith Research Facility of Tund

The facility on Tund is located within the north-most shielding bubble on the planet. The facility is both the base of operations for the archeological operation across the planet, as well as home to what is currently the largest Force-based research facility in the galaxy. It is comprised almost entirely of prefabricated and new durasteel structures, most of which are laboratories, with the only exception to this being an ancient Sith temple that has been restored over the years.

The facility is a direct branch of the Imperial-Sith Academy on Coruscant and is the current headquarters of their Science and Archaics Division. The Sith students who show an interest in either the mystical or scientific aspects of the dark side often come here. The students are most typically divided into two main groups: those who study the arcane arts of Sith spellcraft and sorcery and those who learn to use the dark side to augment the molecular properties of organic and inorganic matter.

Most of the instruction and practice of Sith Alchemy takes place in the many labs on the site, except for the forge located within the temple. The temple is primarily where the instruction and study of the Sith Sorcery takes place. It is also the location of the planets open archive, which contains holofiles of all texts, relics, and other archeological finds that are allowed for the students to view. Shuttles constantly travel from the facility to the various archeological sites on planet as students look for further lost knowledge left behind by the original Sith Kissai buried in the planet or lost within its ruins. Not all of these areas however are open to the students...

Falen watched in awe as she ate voraciously, wondering how such a small woman could eat so much.

“Where does it all go?” he said quietly, his cheek resting on his fist. Ophelia looked up at him over her mug of stim tea and shot him a glare. The two students had become close in the week, forming a friendly rivalry. It was strange, she did not feel the need to use or exploit him. Their game was different. He gave her a mentorship and camaraderie that she could not have with Master Aeternus.

“You’ll get fat,” he said, wrinkling his nose, “Then you’ll be so weighed down, you won’t even be a challenge.”

The woman pouted and shoved a piece of sweetcake into her mouth, proving that she didn’t care what he had to say. “You’re one to talk,” she retaliated, “Any more and your belly will hang over your belt like Filch’s.”

He laughed, pushing back from the table. Truth of the matter was he couldn’t have been more fit, his body a complete powerhouse from training. His only flaw was that he left his mental defenses weak, an easy target for Ophelia. But then, she wasn’t the strongest physically, so he held that advantage over her. That’s how they worked together - where one was weak, the other compensated, picking up the pieces. But Ophelia did not work in teams. She worked alone.

“Falen,” she said, swallowing, “I have been reviewing the archives that you found. Did Master Aeternus give those to you?”

The young man’s brows furrowed as he carefully pressed his fingertips together, resting his elbows on the table. “No. Why would you think that?”

Ophelia stared at him blankly, her eyes sparking with daggers before she shook her head and stood to her feet. “No reason. Have you seen him lately?”

“.. No. I have not. Is something wrong?”

She tilted her head, smiling a sickly sweet smile. “It’s not really natural for a master to leave his student for so long, is it? He and Filch have been talking.” Her smile grew into a crazed grin. “And so have you, for that matter. Conspiring. All of you should be ashamed.” With that, she turned on her heel and walked from the dining commons, pleased with Falen’s look of disbelief. He let his guard down much too easily.

Now it was time to work.

Ophelia bit her thumb, deep in thought as she bent over a manuscript. It was amazing that it had survived all these hundreds of years, only having been written on a piece of flimsy. Her eyes darted across the page, taking in the information on altering an enemy’s perceptions excitedly. She already had a gift with reading minds, but this was something that would come in handy. This would cause fear and panic… chaos. Her lips twitched into a lopsided smirk, a pleasant shiver coursing down her spine as she began to meditate. Yes, she could combine this new knowledge with her training. She would be able to see her opponent’s fears and create an illusion so real that they would crumble. And that would be when she could strike them down. Her fingers closed around the Krayt Dragon pearl around her neck and for a moment, she thought she could feel it pulsate. A beating heart of strength simultaneous with her own. Silently mouthing the words of the spell, she felt a sudden surge of power tingling within her small frame. Mentally acknowledging the presence of the Force within her, she began reaching out with her mind, listening to the thoughts and memories of each sentient within the vicinity with much more ease than she had ever had on Coruscant.
