The Path of Bane

[Darth Jeluvitas]

darth jeluvitas landed outside the sith temple on dxun. he did not expect to find much here, but it was the location that was significant. while he waited, he began to wander the ruins, looking for any sith crystals he could find. his apprentice would soon need all that he could find. he left his ship in an obvious location outside so that his apprentice would not have any problems finding the temple

[Marekis Mudane]

Once landed, Marekis exited his ship, streching out the kink in his back that had avoided him for so long. He walked around his ship and once around his masters. Seeing he was no where to be found, he looked off to the temple thinking he might be within its ancient grounds.

He strolled over plainly and without any emotion in his walk. This was rather abnormal for him. Marekis was still very lost in thought at the time. He still lusted power which he was void of, and it left him feeling an emotion which he thought was long lost in his childhood: Depression. After walking a good distance throught the temple he finaly found his master. He walked past him and leaned against a wall tapping it slightly with his knuckles.

"And behind door number two.....more rocks! Congratulations Darth Jeluvitas what will you do with this fabulous prize?" He motioned his invinsible microphone up to his Masters face, waitinf intently for an answer.

[Darth Jeluvitas]

"these rocks are more valuable than you would think. These are lightsaber crystals."

jeluvitas held up a hand filled with crystals he had found around the place.

"with these you can construct your own lightsaber, and begin your real training. very soon i shall show you what i have in mind, but i will take me some time to complete these at first. for now, begin your lightsaber. explore this temple with your senses expanded. anything that gives off a significant darkside aura, pick it up and bring it to me. the things you are looking for are everyday common objects, like lenses, batteries, and seemingly random parts for a starship engine or blaster rifle. the force will guide you to the proper parts. when you have completed this, return here."

Jeluvitas pulled out the cube from his pocket and sat on the ground in a meditation pose with the four crystals he found in front of him.

Marekis stared at his master quizically as he explained. So he was finally getting his own lightsaber?

Marekis appreciated the efforts his master was putting toward finally making him stronger. It was becoming a rather large annoyance, going through his day with no progression toward his objective.

Marekis stepped away from his master and began pacing through the halls of the temple. He thought back to what his master had told him: to expand his senses, and search for random objects strong in the power of the darkside. Clueless as to how a random object could become charged with darkside powers, he reluctently stopped and closed his eyes focusing his force powers to scout the halls of the temple.

Marekis was left in complete silence other than the hollow sounds of wind blowing through the ancient ruins. Slowly he scanned through the area sensing nothing. But soon enough a spike of force power came from several locations within is vacinity. He opened his eyes surprised that it worked. He jogged over to a pile of rubble and searched through it finding the remnants of what seemed to be part of the exterior of a space ship. It was a small chunk with other small pieces around it that Marekis couldnt identify. Marekis shrugged and picked it up and stored it in his travelling bag.

Jeluvitas sat in his meditation pose. through the force, he lifted two of the crystals he had found and began twirling them in the air. at the same time, he lifted the cube and floated it right in the center of the two crystals spinning. then he began to spin the crystals faster and lessen the radius of the circle. finally they touched the cube, and phazed into it. the cube began to glow white at first, but eventually faded to a dark brilliant red. it began to glow so bright that light filled the entire room. sweat began to bead on jeluvitas' forehead. finally the light ceased, and the cube was set on the ground. in front of him floated a single red crystal that refracted the light in such a way that it looked like the crystal was filled with blood.

this was a good start, but this was simply a hyper focused crystal. for his plans, he needed a crystal that could refract into more than just a straight line. this was why he had more. but for now, this crystal was 150% energy efficient.

Marekis turned to see the a glimmer in the direction of his master. He was curious to what was going on so her hurried and gathered up the other items he had found and started back. He was slightly confused and curious to what his master had in store for him, but he had a strong feeling it was good.

Marekis stopped behind Jeluvitas and dropped the numerous items he had found, then looking to his master he smiled.

"Heres your order boss. Pile ala crap! So tell me what were workin' on here exactly. I'm gettin' shivers of suspense here!"

jeluvitas ignored marekis for the time being. he repeated the process from before, except much faster this time as he knew what to do. when he finished he opened his eyes and looked at his apprentice.

"I have just created two new crystals. these crystals are quite possibly the most powerful crystals ever created of their type. i intend to combine these two into one to create something even greater, that with proper training, you can use to fight your opponents. What you have just brought me, you will use to create your own lightsaber. one that is tuned to your own life, and that will increase your effectiveness significantly. you must build it with these parts. the basic construction of a lightsaber requires a casing, an emiter, a lens, a crystal, and a powersupply. more complex lightsabers can do different things, such as change crystals to change the length, have angled handles, and have different shapes. for now, you will build a basic model with what you have here. it should have perfect dimmensions for what you need, considering the force led you to the parts. when you are done, you will enter a trance, and focus all your energy on it, finishing the consruction through the force, making it more efficient than can be achieved through any other means. when you are done with that, i will be done with this." he motioned to the two crystals.

Marekis shrugged in slight confusion, but understood enough. He was to build his lightsaber now. Oh how fun this would be. Marekis waved away at Jeluvitas ignoring any other words he might have, understanding what he must now do. Marekis stepped to the other side of the area they were focusing in and began constructing his lightsaber. Meditation was a hassle to Marekis, but he figured it would be worth it in the end. Infact there seems to be something else up with Jeluvitas lately. Like he had some big plan he was unaware about, but then again he always seemed that way, so Marekis continujed to focus on his task at hand...the construction of his personal lightsaber...

Now came the hard part. jeluvitas had to not only combine the crystal, but shape the path light would refract through it. he focused intensely and repeated the same process from before, but this time when it was finished, the crystal looked more or less solid. it had now reached 300% efficiency. normally, a crystal like this wouldnt work in a lightsaber, as the amount of energy output by the battery core would just cause a giant explosion. this would be different. this crystal would be powered by marekis himself. when it was finished, jeluvitas took out his lightsaber and held the blade out above his hand. he just barely touched the blade to his bare palm and began to absorb the energy. this was an incredibly difficult feat for even him to do. then, after absorbing a little, he channeled a tenth of it into the new crystal. the crystal let out a clear flat plate of lightsaber energy. his task was complete.

Mean while Marekis was still hard at work at his lightsaber. He was jsut about finishe though. He could feel a strange power growing near him. Infact it came from his master. Marekis was puzzled by the sudden spike in energy from his master, but let it go and finished his lightsaber. As it lay in his hands now he stood and presented it to his Jeluvitas with a slight twinge of pride in his voice.

"So what do you think? Bad ass job right? I'll name her Lulu..."

Jeluvitas saw the lightsaber his apprentice had created.

"it is acceptable. it will serve you better than your current one at least. Now that this part of your training is complete, it is time you learned the more advanced techniques. First, i shalll teach you force lightning, and after, energy manipulation, the power i specialize in. you will need a special energy manipulation that i have never tried to master to use this crystal, however."

jeluvitas held up the new crystal, and then hid it in his robes.

Marekis raised an eyebrow and looed at the crystal. Then he looked back at his master, wondering if this man had any emotion within' him at all. Unlikely, but hell what's that gotta do with Nothin'? Exactly.

"Alright...so...shootin' lightning...how's that kriff go."

Marekis poked his master childishly an continuesly.

"Zap......Zap.....Zap"

[Darth Jeluvitas]

Jeluvitas ignored his apprentice's strange sense of humor.

"follow me. we will begin this lesson outside. That way we can use the very elements to empower our abilities."

jeluvitas turned and left for the large courtyard in front of the temple.

[Marekis Mudane]

Marekis shrugged the lack of attention he recieved off and followed his master outside.

"This place is rather grim...but some how really homey..."

Marekis folded his arms and smiled his wicked smile.

jeluvitas stood outside the temple and faced his apprentice. it was time to teach his apprentice force lightning.

"This power i am about to teach you is one of the most fundamentally important powers a sith can learn. There are several levels of it, each named for its intensity. First and weakest is force shock."

he held out his hand to a pillar and let out a small fork of lightning into a nearby pole. the pole was only barely charred black in the spot.

"this level is normally used to temporarily stun someone, but different variations have been formed that are far more deadly, such as adding a concentrated concussion blast to the bolt."

jeluvitas demonstrated again on the pole, but this time, the entire pillar was blown apart violently.

"the next level is force lightning. it is still focused on a single target, but it sustained longer and releases more bolts."

he demonstrated this power on the ground in front of him.

"this power is my trademark ability. i created a variation on it so that it not only violently electrocutes the target, but drains all of the thermal energy out of their body. for now, this is all i will demonstrate, because it is not likely you will reach the higher levels anytime soon, if ever. only sith that focus on this area of force power ever reach those levels."

Marekis watched in intrigue as his master performed the marvelous feat before him and his eyes widened. He opened his mouth as to speak but backed away. The second demonstration went by and he jumped slightly, not from the scare, but from the excitement. He began to jump in place as the explanation went on. Once his master seemed to finish, or what Marekis believed was his turn to speak (not really caring either way), he spoke out quickly.

"Ok yeahyeahyeah, now teach me how to shock stuff!"

Marekis nodded repetitively at his master then at the pillar he had performed on then back at his master once more. The wait was unbearable.

"Now, force lightning is considered one of the more difficult powers of the sith. the easiest way to learn it is through experience. i am going to shock you and i want you to use all of your rage to grasp it and bend it to your will. at the same time, you must learn to understand it so that you can create it for yourself."

jeluvitas then released A weak stream of force lightning upon his apprentice. it was weak, but enough to cause a significant amount of pain

Marekis smirked and nodded as the shock began. The pain was different from anything he felt. Not extremely painful, but hard to know how to resist. Marekis leaned forward in agony. His eye's slammed shut as he tried to shake it somehow but the he tried to make the pain go away the more it came at him. Suddenly he heard something. He opened one eye and tried to find the source of the nose but found nothing. He shut his eyes again and heard it again louder this time. The nose came from within him. A loud click sounded off in his head as he forced himself up, shuttering from the shock still, but forcing it off himself, or more precisely resisting the pain itself. He stood up straight and locked eyes with his master and a huge grin formed slowly and almost painfully across his dark face. His teeth clenched together, not in pain but in reaction of the electricity flowing through him. One fist rolled open and a small spark formed on it. Not large in size, but obvious to see. Marekis didn't notice it at the time, but surely his master did.

Jeluvitas noticed the spark, but a mere spark was not enough. he had to push his apprentice farther than that, drive him to the edge of his life and make him fight back to instill the hunger for power that was the trademark of the sith in him.

"it would appear you managed to create your own spark of lightning. now strike me down. give it all of your rage and hate and use it to destroy me."

Jeluvitas stopped his assaut momentarily, but then resumed it at a force lightning level.

Marekis began to shutter and spazzam, lightning now coursing through every cell in his body. His neck arched up and his eyes rolled to the back of his head. There was no sign of that spark again. Marekis thoughts bounced around his mind, hardly making any logical note out of any of it. Suddenly he sensed an inner desire within himself. It began to roar louder and louder, till it shook the very foundation of his mind and soul. His hands began to spark again, but not like before, they began to glow bright with strength and power. The charge grew more powerful over time. Marekis pulled himself in fighting off the pain until all he could feel was his own rage. As he began to focus more on this rage, the pain added to the fuel of his inner fire. He curled his horse inward and finally let out a yell that was soon drowned out by the sound of lightning, sharp and fierce, streaming around his arm and down off his fingertips. It shot out more fast and powerful than Marekis' eye could catch, but he knew it's power. It was like he knew all along, somewhere within it was always there, waiting, festering, stalking his core till the day it could be released...
