maximus was born and corruscant. his mother had died giving birth to him, and his father raised him on his own. his father worked in a factory making armor for the imperial army, and he taught his son much of his craft. they were among the the poor class, but despite this maximus' father did the best he could to give his son a future. when he was fifteen, maximus' father was mugged for the few credits they had and murdered, leaving maximus alone. being alone, heartbroken, angry at his father's death and creditless, maximus enlisted in the imperial army. he had to lie about his age, however, for he was only fifteen, too young to join.
in the army, maximus rose through the ranks quickly. he never formed a bond with any of his fellow soldiers, and prefferred to be alone. he followed orders without question, winning him favor from his superiors. he cared not for anyone else. he never showed any emotion. he was relenntless on the battle field and showed his enemies no mercy. his own teammates were afraid of him, and believed him to be a sith in disguise. they say he had a cold heartless stare, one that would burn through your soul.
maximus became strong, and learned to survive on his own strength no matter what came at him. he never asked for the help or trusted anyone else.
then, when he turned nineteen after four years in the army, maximus decided to leave, for reasons known only to him. however his higher ups valued his ability to kill far too much, and they denied his request for discharge. they threatened to kill him if he left. death however, did not scare maximus, and he deserted the next day, stealing an imperial troop carrier, his issued rifle and blaster pistol.
once on corruscant, he assumed the name of jacob keyes, and sought the aid of an old friend of his father who still worked at the armor factory. over the next year, maximus lived i the factory hidden away. every night, he and his father's friend would work on maximus' new armor, designed solely for maximus' use. finally, after a year's work, the suit was completed, which maximus dubbed The Saber. He believed the armor would be his sword that would allow him to survive anything life threw at him, for it ran on his willpower alone.
as he was adorning his new armor for the first time, a dozen imperial troopers stormed the factory. they engaged maximus in a firefight, to which he tested his new armor. his father's friend was killed in the fight, and he made his way to his hidden cruiser and made his escape. he left the core world for the mid rim. once there, he went to kashyyk. he decided to live there, for the dangerous planet warded off most space fairing travelers. at long last he thought he might be left alone in his isolation.
for two years, he lived on kashyyk. he became a bounty hunter, known only to those who could contact him as The Saber. he would leave his home and venture to other world's solely to collect the bounty offered to him, then he would return home. he built a hut in a massive tree one hundred feet off the forest floor.
one day as he was hunting for food, he heard a series of explosions off in the distance. the roar of the terentatek that dwelled in a nearby cave along the cliff sounded through the forest. Maximus raced back to his tree home to get his armor. and so the story begins.....

Believes that others and technology will fail you, and you have to rely on your own strength and knifeblade to pull yourself up when you fall down. has always felt like there was more to this life than what he'd seen, and wonders everyday if he'll ever find it. he is always waiting for something to happen, and always expects the worst.
