Lirri leaned against a wall with her arms crossed, not even bothering to feign interest as two Jedi strode past her. She rubbed the slight burn on her arm--courtesy of an Imperial soldier--and cursed under her breath.
For years she thought that the Force was a myth, something the Emperor made up to scare people. Yet here was a enclave of Jedi, with the fabled lightsabers hanging from their waists, ready to defy the Galactic Empire. She sniffed in disdain. Because of their stupid war she lost everything--home, credits, and family.
One of the Jedi came up to her, the male Twi'lek who brought her here in the first place.
"Master Beckoaret has ordered us to leave the enclave."
"Already?" Lirri asked sourly. "I only arrived yesterday."
"The Emperor's soldiers came looking for you because they assumed you were allied with us," he replied, disapproval evident in his voice. "If not for me, you would have been captured by Imperial soldiers and executed as a Jedi."
Lirri peered up at the Twi'lek and frowned, her nose wrinkling in dislike. It irked her that he kept referring to her talent as the "Jedi mind trick." Although surrounded by Jedi, she had a hard time believing that she was "Force-sensitive."
"I didn't say I was ungrateful. They did give me a nasty burn." She touched the wound again. "But I don't want to get sucked into this war."
The Twi'lek disregarded this last statement.
"Pack up all your things and prepare to leave in twenty minutes."
