It was dusk, the rain poured heavily. "You wanna remind me why were here sergeant?" Lieutenant Starbuck turned to his senior enlisted officer Sergeant Tarkon. "According to the Grand Moff, there is a weapons dealer for the Jedi here on this lord forsaken planet, he wants us to take him alive, his men however are of no importance, our orders are to leave no survivers. Other than that there's no other detail sir." "Is there any detail what were going up against? wookies? Jedi?" "Just humans sir, however there is rumor about him having a meeting with a Jedi tomorrow morning about weapons transfer, our goal it too grab him before he meets em, we don't want a Jedi on our hands now do we sir?" "Ifwe do sergeant I'm expecting you to fish me out." "With all due respect sir, if that happens you can go to hell." Tarkin and Starbuck have both been in the Gloom Walkers for some time, although he had been in the Sith army 3 years longer than Starbuck Tarkin stayed on to be the platoon sergeant, while Jack went on to become a lieutenant. There were nine of them, all concealed in the bush with black recon armor on and laying quietly waiting for their next orders, they were the best of the best. If the Emperor needed something done that did not deal with Sith matters, the Gloom Walkers were his first choice to get the job done. A regular A-team within the Gloom Walkers consisted of 12 men, however the teams Captain and two other soldiers were sent off on some other support mission, and Starbuck was given lead of the mission. He pressed his cheek into the mic. near his mouth. "Alright Walkers, the compound is 2 clicks east from here, ruck up and head out, ETA should be 20 min. move cautiously, we don't want any of them karking carpets swinging in on us." It wasn't a second until he heard a positive "YES SIR" from all nine men at once in his earpiece. He was proud of them, and was willing to die for any one of them, but for today he hoped he could get them all back safely and buy them a beer, and look back at this as just another day in the life.

"kark its small" "All the more easy for us to take, Dab" The compound was almost like a shack, however the intel provided said that there were some underground tunnels, hopefully they weren't too extensive though. "Alright Walkers you know what to do, you wait for my mark". Six of the nine men were equipped with heavy blaster rifles, this group would be Alpha team or basically the support element Sergeant Tarkon would be in charge. While the other three would be the assault element, or Bravo team; they were equipped with silenced compact blasters as they would be the team entering the shack. Alpha team would stay 50 meters away from the compound and would unload on the compound causing stress and confusion among the dealers men, while Bravo team would break in, take the dealer and drag him out, Starbuck would be in charge of the assault group. When Jack breached the door, that was the signal for the Alpha team to unleash hell. It took him a full 30 min. to crawl up to the side door, but he would rather be cautious than daring, thankfully no one saw them. He took the door charges out of Dabs bag, placed them on the door and set the charge. 3...2....BOOM!!! The door blew inward, Starbuck and his two men swept through the door with their silenced blasters raised to take on anyone, but no one was there. Jack hear the blaster fire from the heavy weapons go off, and then the shouts and screaming started. "Well at least someone is here". They ran down a stair case leading to the tunnel system down below, and the team ran into a ford in the labyrinth. Starbuck pointed at his two men to head down to the left and he pointed at his watching making a "five" with his hand, meaning if they weren't back in five minutes he would leave their sorry asses. Once he saw them glide down the corridor, one on each side he took his own route. He went down another flight of stair and came up on another hallway. He moved in without thinking, and spotted to guards not well armored just in some fatigues. While still moving foreword, his rifle was raised he picked off one guard with a three round burst and then another burst to the other guard. He did this all without stopping and he didn't even bother to look back, he knew they were down for the count. He etched around a couple more corners and found the entrance to what seemed like an important room, with a guard in front, luckily his back was to Jack. Jack slung his rifle and whipped out his sith short-sword, a relic from his days back at the academy, and stabbed the guard in the upper left shoulder and then pulling down to make sure the blade was in for good. He held the screaming guard up with his blade while he pulled his Westar 43 blaster pistol and scanned the room. There were two men, one in robes the other in the regular guard fatigues. He knew what to do, using the still alive guard as a shield he fired a shot straight into the other guards chest killing him instantly. He turned to the man in robes. By that time the robed man had his pistol out as well, firing on the now dead shield Jack had. Realizing the bodies tissue was being blown away by the robed mans shots he rolled behind a pillar and froze. He knew the robed man had his pistol aimed and the pillar waiting for Jack to stick his head out so he could shoot. No, Jack had to win, after all of the failures in his life he had to win, he was tired of failure and wanted nothing more than victory. His adrenaline was kicked in as he tossed a flash grenade behind him, hearing the mans roar the bang went off. This item was used to paralyze enemies in a way of temporarily making them nearly blind, and deaf. The blast affected both of them, but Jack had the will to keep on going. he struggled to his feet and slowly made his way to wear the man was tossing and turning in confusion. His pistol still out, he thought about making a shot to the mans leg or arm just to make him more compliant, but Jack was too dazed from the blast he couldn't risk it. He let the but of the pistol fall on the mans head, and with that Jack's body. For two seconds, Jack and the man laid sprawled on top of each other, finally Jack slowly maneuvered his hands to the cuffs in his pack and clasped them on the robed mans hands. Getting up as fast as he could, he turned to see three more guards walk in through the opposite door, rifles raised, but they would dare not shoot, as Jack had his pistol to the mans head. For 10 seconds it was just a stand off, Jack honestly did not know what to do. He knew he had captured the weapons dealer, but his new problem was getting out of here. Finally his salvation came, shots were fired in the corridor behind the guards. As the all turned into the doorway, Jack made a mad dash with his confused pray, back into the hallway he came. He threw the dealer on the floor and fiddled with his pack to find a thermal detonator, still hearing the confusing yells of the guards he threw the grenade into the room and took off with his prey, the grenade went off, he didn't need to look back, he knew the detonator did its job.

He stumbled his way up the steps dragging the stilled dazed dealer up with him. When he reached the top, he saw his two men in a secure position waiting for him. "Was that you guys back there?" One of his men, Flanny, grabbed one of the other dealers arms "kriff, we killed about 20 men back there, but when that detonator went off we knew yous was out." Starbuck let his two men take the dealer out the way they came while he pulled rear security, it also gave him time to get back what the flash-bang took away. When they got outside shots were still being fired. Jack yelled into his mic. "Sergeant, were coming out, shift fire left we have the hostage, I repeat we have the hostage!." Jack heard Tarkin barking "Shift fire left! shift fire left!" And by that Bravo team made their way to the right back to where Alpha was. With the fire fight still raging, Tarkin ran up to Jack "Evacis on its way! The Extraction point is 4 clicks North, ETA 30 min!" That was a lot to ask, of a team who has already been in a raging firefight, but Starbuck knew they could do it, this is what they trained for. Executing a leapfrog maneuver, the soldiers fired, ran, fired, ran, and then ran some more. The men took turns caring the hostages, as no one was a real ironman. But the team made it to the extraction point. They still had three minutes to spare, but that didn't mean for them to loosen up on their formation. They held a tight 360 degree perimeter, while waiting for their shuttle to come. The sun was starting to come up now, and the rain was stopping. In all honesty it was beautiful, and Jack knew it. The way the dew stayed on the trees, and how the morning sun would reflect through the branches onto the still dripping rain drops. Jack looked at his hostage and looked him in the eye; he didn't even know his name, or even what his motives were. Still he had a mission to do and he did it, he would let the military decide what to do with him. Finally the Shuttle arrived, all the men pilled aboard, roughhousing the dealer onto the craft. Starbuck was the last one aboard, being pulled by Tarkin. "Just another easy day sir?" "Yes sergeant, just another easy day" The shuttle took off, and Jack looked at the landscape, while his man were cheering and chest-bumping in the small space they had. Before Jack turned to congratulate his men, he noticed a rock formation that seemed...unnatural. He pondered for a minute and decided to let it go, he had been through enough today.
