Obviously this forum takes place 550 years After the Battle of Yavin, but what has happened between the dissolution of Darth Krayt's One Sith in 137 ABY and now, 413 years later?
The One Sith spread their dark tendrils of influence through the new Galactic Federation Triumvirate, and before the government had time to root down and get settled into the minds of the people, the One Sith acted.
In a lightning quick span of time in 140aby, the One Sith destroyed every arm of the GFT from within. With the galaxy in utter chaos, a mysterious lone Sith rose up from the political shadows and in one move coordinated the rebirth of the One Sith Empire. Shrouded in mystery, this Sith had ruled, unchanging, undying, to this very day.
He merely calls himself The Emperor, and it is rumored that his Sith name is Darth Erebus, but nobody can say for sure as he has never explicitly spoken of himself as a disciple of the One Sith.
The Emperor rules in much the same way as the old Empire did, albeit more accepting of smugglers and pirates. He seldom wastes Imperial troops for something as mundane as spice running. The considerable non-Sith branch of the Imperial military is led by Grand Moff Scivra Happ: a Duros directly under the Emperor's orders.
The Emperor has ruled for the past 63 years and continues to do so, keeping a looser grip on the galaxy than old regimes did, but will severely punish anything that attempts to fight his dark will.

At this point there are Sith Temples on:
•Tund--Specialty in Sith Sorcery and Alchemy
•Kesh--Specialty in combat and military tactics. High standards in lightsaber combat
•Bastion--Specialty in military tactics and Illusions and mind domination/manipulation
•Ziost--Exclusive area reserved for the most powerful Masters, Lords, and other high ranking dark side practitioners to come and share their knowledge and create new techniques. Contains the most dark and ancient tomes and records of the Sith, including the largest collection of Sith holocrons. It is the place where most go to learn to construct their own holocrons.
•Korriban--Specialty in all types of dark side powers, with a focus on the kinetic/offensive kind. Although not ins main focus, it does have excellent lightsaber instruction. Primary location of the Sith high council. Houses the largest open Sith library (Open meaning open to any member, no matter how low ranking, of the Sith.)
•Coruscant--Broad range of instruction in many types of mental and kinetic dark side powers. Specialty in lightsaber combat, including a highly prestigious focus on dueling. General instruction in standard and Sith military tactics. Surrounds the area of the Emperor’s Palace.

The Jedi, thought to be extinct for four hundred years, have recently been revealed to be in hiding in several small Jedi camps scattered throughout the galaxy on planets the Emperor payed little attention to. Armed with information from a large and shadowy network of spies of all races and affiliations, the Emperor is doing his best to send large battalions of imperial troops to wipe out these Jedi camps, although some have taken a strong foothold on planets resentful of imperial rule.

•Dantooine--who specialize in Lightsabers
•Ossus--who specialize in Telekinesis
•Dac--who specialize in Illusions
•Dagobah--who specialize in Precognition
•Kashyyyk--who specialize in Alter Mind
•Borao--who specialize in Physical Enhancement
•Utapau--who specialize in Empathy
•Eclipse--who specialize in Lightsabers
...with possibly more scattered throughout the stars.

You will find that RP, while it happens consistently, revolves around major events that happen far less frequently. These major events usually involve many players and drastically change the state of affairs for many, if not most, characters involved.
A Retelling of the major events in the RP thus far:

•The Assault on the Sith Temple:
A group of Jedi and people friendly to the Jedi all went to the Sith Temple of Coruscant--all for different reasons, but all in intentional synchronous. However, while some met their goals, as a whole the entire operation fell into disaster as powerful Sith Lords retaliated viciously. Struck, the Jedi and others returned to the hidden Enclave on the other side of Coruscant, only to realize they had been tracked there. Their hand forced, the Jedi had no choice but to exile from the planet before the Empire could mount a much more successful counter-assault on their home.

•The Invasion of Kashyyyk [Sub-event]:
After the Jedi flee Coruscant, the Empire was able to track some of the refugees down to the Enclave on Kashyyyk, where they were headed. The Empire sent down a large military strike force to eradicate the Jedi on the lower levels, but the deadly environment and Jedi-sympathizing Wookiee guerilla tactics caused the operation to be a failure.

•The Death of Darth Jeluvitas:
The powerful and infamous (in Jedi and Sith circles, at least) Darth Jeluvitas, in desiring to reinstate the ancient Sith Rule of Two, challenged the Emperor to take head of the One Sith order once and for all and banish the heresy. However, the Emperor proved too strong, and Jeluvitas was sucked through a hole in hyperspace to Ambria where, already weakened, he was accosted and slain by his apprentice, Marekis Mudane.
