Rebirth of the Force is a free-form, play-by-post Star Wars themed role play forum. There are no numbers, no stats, just an emphasis on storytelling and creating plot lines for your and others' characters. In a sense it's like one big collaborative fanfiction (to use the dreaded f-word). In general (but this is by no means the definite case), you'll start as a mundane force-blind sentient being then choose an affiliation and grow in power. It's that simple. The only rules are: No lord-modding: if you are in a in-game conflict with another character, don't assume that all you do works, (for example if you shoot a blaster at someone, don't say "The blast drives deep into his stomach and he keels over, dead." Give them a chance to dodge if it's within reason) and no killing other characters without their owner's consent. This doesn't have clear boundaries, but try to be sensible and logical, and most importantly, try to make the whole experience enjoyable and fun. No spamming: pretty self-explanatory No trash-talking: avoid flaming other people. If it's in-character and reasonable, then it's understandable, but if it's not in-character or not something your character would do, then use common sense. Even if it's in-character, try to keep the flaming to a minimum. No ERP: good lord I would have hoped I would never have had to say this, but in case it crosses your mind... NO. (If you don't know what ERP is, then just forget this last one.)

a few more things to add to that, make sure if you travel to a planet, your ship has the capabilities to do so. for example, dont go into the heart of the maw if you have an outdated y-wing, no offense rayn. also just to rephrase what lents said, keep it pg-13 if you are gonna do something inapropriate for pg-13, other than violence, do it in messages. also, if you must say something out of character, say it in the appointed boards, or at least say "ooc:" before saying so. (ooc stands for out of character)

That's Lents (character) that has the old Y-wing.

RP. Create a story for your character and follow through, having adventures and interact with other people. You can sort of think of this like one big interactive fanfic.* If you still don't quite get it, read up on other RP threads to sort of get a sense of what it's like.
*(Edit from the future: that's a good, terse phrase to describe this forum. I think I shall put it in the description)
